Even though supernatural shows on Indian television have been garnering criticism, Karanvir Bohra says he believes in this kind of content. He adds that the critique surrounding these shows doesn’t bother him.
“Criticism is people’s point of view. For me, it’s all about distilling the negativity and creating positivity. If people criticise, let them do so. No one is going to stop them. People should be entertained, and that’s the bottom line. If a little bit of entertainment can lighten people’s moods, then why not go ahead, [with it]?” says the actor.
Most Indian television shows centre around female protagonists, but Karanvir thinks that the audience is open to male-centric shows as well.

Karanvir is set to be seen in a film, in which he plays an anti-hero. The television star says that when it comes to movies, he would like to “carve a niche” for himself by doing complex roles.
“When I’m doing a film, it needs to be challenging. It needs to be different from what I am doing on television. There are anyway a lot of good boy roles that actors do [in films]. Be it movies or television, what excites me is a good role,” he adds.
