on SAB TV, has been given an extension of 104 episodes. The show is expected to run for another four months.
Confirming the news, Anuj Kapoor of SAB TV says that the channel only extends shows by 104 episodes at a time. “Maniben.com has broken its own TRP records. It has touched 0.7 on a channel that has a reach of 38 in the past two weeks. It means the show can give ratings of over 2 points on any of the top-rated channels. It is one of our best shows and is doing exceedingly well,” gushes Kapoor.
Wonder why then, the show didn’t make it to the nominations list of top comedy shows at the Indian Television Academy Awards this year? According to Kapoor, it’s a decision made by the jury and the channel doesn’t interfere.
Buzz is that Irani refused to walk the ramp at the nomination announcement for the ITA Awards this week. Sources say that the actress refused because her show wasn’t among the five shows nominated from the same channel (SAB TV). But according to Irani, she couldn’t make it to the nomination evening because of her hectic shooting schedule and her political party work in Jharkhand and Ahmedabad. “This is one more rumour added to my name. Anu Ranjan (the organiser of the Awards) knows very well that I was held back by Contiloe Films. I was shooting. Right now, I am in Jharkhand for a political campaign.” informs the actor.
