Smriti Irani has one reason to celebrate and one reason that makes the occasion a little sour. Her comedy show,

Maniben.com

on SAB TV, has been given an extension of 104 episodes. The show is expected to run for another four months.

Confirming the news, Anuj Kapoor of SAB TV says that the channel only extends shows by 104 episodes at a time. “Maniben.com has broken its own TRP records. It has touched 0.7 on a channel that has a reach of 38 in the past two weeks. It means the show can give ratings of over 2 points on any of the top-rated channels. It is one of our best shows and is doing exceedingly well,” gushes Kapoor.

Wonder why then, the show didn’t make it to the nominations list of top comedy shows at the Indian Television Academy Awards this year? According to Kapoor, it’s a decision made by the jury and the channel doesn’t interfere.

Ranjan confirmed this: “Smriti had called me on the morning of the show to say that she’s unable to make it. So, I asked her to take it easy.” Asked about the nominations, Ranjan seemed surprised, “Ask Smriti if she’s upset, I know nothing about this.”
