Meet the new Veer
After the original Veer, actor Nandish Sandhu decided to quit, actor Vikas Bhalla will take on his role in Uttaran.
Popular TV show Uttaran surprised its audiences by taking an 18-year leap recently, and the fans are now in for a new change.
Telly star Nandish Sandhu, who shot to fame by portraying the character of Veer in the show, has decided to back out, making way for actor Vikas Bhalla. According to sources, the reason behind Sandhu’s decision is that the 30-year-old is not comfortable with playing a character, much older than his real age. Also, his wife, actor Rashmi Desai (who played Tapasya in Uttaran) quit some time back, which might be another reason for Sandhu’s step.
Confirming the news, 39-year-old Bhalla says, “I am excited about taking up this role and I am going to bring my interpretation to Veer’s character..I am checking old episodes to get a hang of the character.”
Ask him about any apprehensions about playing a middle-aged character, and he says, “The best characters on TV have been strong middle-aged men, like Mr Bajaj from Kasauti Zindagi Ki and Mihir Virani from Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. So I’m not apprehensive.”
