After winning Nach Baliye 3, Sanjeeda Sheikh has finally got a Pankh to fly high. Before you ask, it is a film produced by Sanjay Gupta that will mark Sheikh's entry into Bollywood. Minakshi Saini caught up with her for a tete-a-tete.

From Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka to Pankh... how has the journey been?
Before signing for Nimmo, I was working in the south indian film industry. The character of Nimmo was notorious and fun-loving. I was best fitted in the same and got the opportunity.
What compelled you to sign this film?
I got this movie much before Nach Baliye 3 happened to me. I opted for it because it's not a commercial movie. It's a dark film, pretty much like art films. I didn't want to run around trees for the sake of acting.
Tell us something about your character in the film
I'm playing a simple and innocent girl-next-door whose name is Kusum. Her mother forces her to go and audition for a film.
The film also has Bipasha Basu and Mahesh Manjrekar...
I have only a few scenes with them. The ones with Mahesh were nice.

Anything you'd like to say to Rakhi Sawant and Abhishek Awasthi...
I don't have anything to say to people who are not important to me, as they don't matter to me. Wishing them all the best in life is all I can say. I'm a dignified person and do what I enjoy and not merely for gaining publicity.
And if you were in their shoes?
You mean being a loser (giggles). As I said we are dignified people so would have accepted our defeat but surely wouldn't have used it as a publicity gimmick by making fake statements.
