Zara Nachke Dikhaa wasn’t without its share of controversies over the last few months. But Sunday night’s finale surpassed all. The dance reality show which pitted boys against girls, saw the Meethi Chhooris coming out trumps over the Tez Talwars.

Quite expectedly, the boys didn’t take their defeat in the right spirit. The best dancer in the boys’ team, Bhakhtyar M Irani, cried foul and led his team out.

Unfair!
The actor is unhappy with the judges’ decisions and states that they were very unfair. “The girls said I was better.. the viewers know I was better.. but the judges didn’t see it that way. I can write it in blood that my solo act was better that Karishma’s (Tanna) and even she would agree. Yet I lost,” he rages.

Irani also questions the presence of a third judge (Saroj Khan) on the final day. “I can’t figure out why they had to get a third judge who had a personal vendetta against me,” he argues. Khan had judged wife Tanaaz Currim and Irani in Nach Baliye 3.. they lost out in the semi-finals and since then there has been friction.

Well deserved victory
What about Irani’s allegation that the judges were unfair? “Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. Besides, on the final day, none of us knew what the other person’s points were. So where’s the question of being unfair?’ reasons Panday.

Irani is known for not being a team player but he doesn’t agree. “I wouldn’t have done four performances on the final night if I wasn’t one,” he says. Panday feels even that was a wrong ploy.

Irani agrees that the girls were the better dancers all through but asserts that the boys surpassed them on the final day.

“On a given day, even Bangladesh can beat India in a cricket match. The team can be strong on paper but on a particular day the tables can turn,” he argues. Irani says that he has no hard feelings towards the girls: “They played with their brains.. we with our hearts.”
