Beauty always prevails, at least on the small screen. Nakusha’s character on the Colors show, Laagi Tujshe Lagan will transform from an ugly duckling to a beautiful swan tonight. But Mahi Vij, who plays the character is hardly amused at comparisons to Jassi’s character from the show Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi. “This is not like Jassi at all. There, everyone knew she was going to change. My character changes because of the situation she finds herself in,” she snaps back when quizzed about the similarity.

The show is being produced by actor Paresh Rawal and -Vij says that “far from being intimidating, he is a really sweet man”. Although the show is her big debut, Vij hasn’t set her eyes on the big screen. “I’m not interested in doing films. People forget what you portray in films, but with TV, you start living with people in their homes,” she concludes.
