The pilot is produced by Greg Berlanti, creator of Arrow and The Flash.

Based on Stephen King's story, the screenplay will be written by Seth Grahame-Smith, who adapted his own novels Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter for the movies.

On a side note, the latter writer is currently also working with director Cary Fukunaga on a new film adaptation of King's IT.

Published in the 2003 compilation Transgressions: Volume Two, The Things They Left Behind is narrated by a man whose decision to take the day off work on September 11, 2001 saved his life. A year after the World Trade Center attacks that took the lives of his colleagues, objects that once belonged to them start mysteriously appearing around the protagonist's apartment. With the help of his neighbor Paula, he understands that he must return the objects to the families of their former owners to put an end to his survivor's guilt.
