Actor Divyanka Tripathi’s wedding to actor Vivek Dahiya on July 8, saw the presence of many of her friends from the television industry. However, her co-star Karan Patel who reprises the role of her husband in an ongoing show couldn’t attend the wedding due to work commitments.

“I wanted to be there for Divyanka’s wedding. However, as the show couldn’t afford to not have both their main leads, it was difficult for me (to take time off from the show). I had to stay back to hold fort,” says Patel.

But Patel and his wife, actor Ankita Bhargava, were present at the wedding reception, in Mumbai.“I could not miss out on the reception. I had missed the wedding but this one was a must-attend,” says Patel.

{{/usCountry}}Buzz is that Patel was given an option to take an off for Divyanka’s wedding if he agreed to work on Eid. But he chose to take an off on the festival and give the wedding a miss.
