When Sargun isn’t around, I feel like running on half power: Ravi Dubey

Ravi Dubey, who is relieved that his hit TV show Jamai Raja is concluding, is looking forward to a long holiday. He talks about his wife Sargun Mehta and Punjabi films.

The last holiday Ravi Dubey took was his honeymoon in 2013. However, the actor plans to change that soon. His TV show that has helped him reach greater heights of success ends this month. “I have had a great journey, but I am relieved it is ending. I plan to go on a long holiday the next day,” says Ravi. He is quick to add that the two-and-a-half year show was his “biggest” hit in his career spanning 11 years. He was thrilled that his character in the show donned 20 different characters and looks, which gave him a chance to exhibit his talent.

Ravi Dubey is looking forward to relaxing for the next few months.

In the past year, the actor has missed his wife, Sargun Mehta, who was shooting outside the country as well as remote areas of India for her Punjabi film. “We had a long-distance relationship of sorts,” says Ravi, who had a tough time “sleeping alone” in the house. “When she is not around, I feel like I am running on half power. I feel exhausted mentally and physically. After a long day at work, you want to go back home to people you love. Her presence is comforting,” adds the actor, who is looking forward to spending time with his wife.

Talking about what’s next for him, he says, “There are offers from the fiction space, but I don’t want to take up a TV show that starts immediately. I want to relax for two-three months at least.”
