The Twilight bug has bitten television czarina, Ekta Kapoor, who is now making the desi version of the American series, Mumbai Mirror reported.

The Twilight saga stars current teen favourite Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen and Kirsten Stewart as Bella. So, who will play the role of Edward Cullen in desi Twilight? Buzz is that Ekta Kapoor has approached hunky actor Vivan Bhatena for the role.

Talking about the project, Vivan told the tabloid, “Yes, I have been approached for the show.”

The hunk is currently hosting reality show Dadagiri and was particularly loved for his role in Karthik Calling Karthik and Chak De India.

The desi version was expected to hit the floors by July but prolonged casting delayed it.

A source in Balaji Telefilms told the tabloid, “We had been hunting for a face that would be apt for Edward’s character; the guy has to look dapper and confident. Vivan Bhatena fits the bill perfectly. He has the looks required to portray the character of Abhay. We are now waiting for the deal with him to be finalised.”
