Brothers treated as outcasts due to rare genetic disease

Updated on Feb 26, 2017 12:06 pm IST

Meet Mushtaq Khan, 7, and Ashfaq Khan, 10, residents of Rampur village in Vidisha district. They are suffering from a rare genetic disease Hypohidrotic Ectodermal Dysplasia (HED). They look different due to the disease they were born with. They have four pointed teeth in the upper jaw, a few white hairs on the head, subdued nasal bone, dark skin with lot of cracks and thin voice. Due to their different looks, people treat them apathetically. They don't have any friend and even relatives have boycotted the family and curse their mother Abila Bi and father Ajeet Khan for giving birth to 'two ghosts'. But for the couple, their kids are their life.
