After bureaucratic reshuffle, Subhash Garg seeks early retirement

A day after the new Modi government effected a major bureaucratic reshuffle, former Economic Affairs Secretary, Subhash Chandra Garg, sought voluntary retirement. He has been moved to the Power Ministry as its top bureaucrat. Garg is believed to have been the architect behind the unprecedented plan to raise funds by issuing sovereign bonds overseas. His successor is Secretary, Department of Investment and Public Assets Management, Atanu Chakraborty. Garg's predecessor in the power ministry, AK Bhalla, has been chosen to be the next Home Secretary. Watch the full video for more.
