A day after a gun scare at Delhi's Shaheen Bagh, the owner of the weapon spoke up. Luqman Chaudhary claimed that he was one of the first settlers in the area, and is counted as one of the responsible people of the colony. Chaudhary said that he had gone to the protest site to reason with the demonstrators to open the road for school children and ambulances. He claims that a commotion ensued and someone snatched his gun. Shaheen Bagh has become a site of round-the-clock protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019, and a proposed National Register of Citizens.
