China issues stern warning to US; 'Respect Venezuela sovereignty or face international...'

China on Tuesday voiced strong opposition to the use of military force following U.S. strikes on Venezuela, calling for respect for national sovereignty and international law. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning told reporters that military means are not a solution to global disputes and warned that indiscriminate use of force only deepens crises. She said China firmly supports Venezuela’s government and people in safeguarding sovereignty, security and legitimate rights, and backs Latin America and the Caribbean as a zone of peace. Mao stressed that major powers should lead by example, resolve disputes through dialogue, and reject interference in other countries’ internal affairs.
