Uttar Pradesh government bans the use of plastic from July 15. “I hope people will stop using plastic cups, glass, and polythene at every level from July 15. We will require everyone's cooperation to implement this move,” said UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath. UP is the second state after Maharashtra to enforce this ban. The Maharashtra government has announced that it would levy fines from Rs 5,000 to Rs 25,000 and three month jail term for repeated violations.
