Recorded music soon to be banned in Delhi pubs and bars

Restaurants in Delhi that serve alcohol will not be able to play any recorded music. Delhi's excise department said the decision came after residents complained of noise from pub in places like Khan Market, Defence Colony and Rajouri Garden. The rule allows live bands to play at such establishments. According to the notice, playing recorded music at these places is a violation of the L-17 licence norms under which they operate. This does not apply to “family restaurants” that do not serve alcohol as they do not come under excise rules
