Photos of newly recruited constables with markings of “SC”, “ST”, and “O” for OBC on their chests surfaced on Sunday, during their medical examination in Madhya Pradesh's Dhar. A probe was ordered after accusations of caste based segregation surfaced. Dhar SP, Birendra Kumar Singh said there was no instruction of any caste marking on candidates. “An inquiry has been initiated. Those found guilty will be punished,” he said. District officials said that initials were put as candidates from different categories have different selection norms under the reservation policy. The marking was done to avoid any mix-up they said.
