Buses with CCTV camera, panic button was launched under the Nirbhaya Scheme in the national capital. In the first phase, 32 cities of 13 states with a population of 1 million or more will be covered. Under the project, all the buses would be under CCTV surveillance and tracked on GPS with a panic button for emergency situations. This initiative has been taken by the Ministry for Road Transport and Highways and Shipping. Total estimated cost of the project is Rs 1404.68 crores.
