Watch | Leopard rescued from tree in WB’s Jalpaiguri district

A leopard was spotted on a tree, captured and tranquilized, and then later released in the Gorumara Reserve Forest.

The drama began on Wednesday morning in West Bengal's Jalpaiguri district, with scared residents throwing stones and objects at the big cat. The large crowd gathered beneath the tree finally informed the forest officials who arrived at the spot and got down to rescuing the animal. After five hours, the leopard was tranquillised and released in the Gorumara Reserve Forest.
