Satellite images from Isfahan have sparked fresh questions over a high-risk U.S. rescue mission after an F-15 Eagle was downed. The visuals show 28 large craters, each around 9 metres wide, seemingly placed to block Iranian access routes near the extraction zone. Analysts believe the strikes were aimed at delaying Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps units as U.S. teams raced to recover the stranded airman. Donald Trump described fears of an “Iranian trap” during early contact. The mission ultimately succeeded, but the images reveal how close it came to spiralling into a wider conflict.
