In India, Chinese envoy openly attacks ‘bully’ Trump, sides with New Delhi in rare support | Tariffs

In an unexpected show of solidarity, the Chinese Ambassador to India, Xu Feihong, publicly criticized the United States for imposing steep tariffs on Indian goods. His remarks, made during an event in New Delhi ahead of the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit, directly addressed the recent 50% tariffs levied by the U.S. on Indian exports. Taking a sharp jab at the U.S., Ambassador Xu accused it of undermining global trade, stating that the "law of the jungle" was being used to disrupt international commerce. The ambassador’s comments come at a time when relations between India and China appear to be cautiously improving after years of tension. Earlier in the week when Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi visited New Delhi for a two-day trip.
