Aligarh: Demonstrators chant ‘Hanuman Chalisa’, booked for violating Sec 144

A unique demonstration was organised in Uttar Pradesh's Aligarh on December 24, 2019. Demonstrators gathered at Aligarh's Centre Point, and recited 'Hanuman Chalisa'. The gathering was in violation of prohibitory orders imposed by police in view of protests regarding Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019. Police booked the demonstrators for violating orders under Section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code.
