27-year old Anupriya Lakra has scripted history by becoming the first tribal woman from Odisha's Malkangiri to become a commercial pilot. The daughter of a police constable, Anupriya will be joining IndiGo Airlines as a pilot. She finished her matriculation from a missionary school in Malkangiri. She did her higher secondary schooling from a school in neighbouring Koraput district. In 2012, Anupriya secured admission in a government-run engineering college in Bhubaneswar, but realised her true calling lay in becoming a pilot. She quit college after a few months and joined the Government Aviation Training Institute, Bhubaneswar.
