Anxiety and chaos mar Chandigarh’s grain distribution with tokens

A new tactic to ensure social distancing while distributing ration has been adopted in Chandigarh. The administration has started distributing food tokens to slum dwellers. The move came after a large crowd gathered during a food distribution drive last week. Hundreds of people stood in queues in scorching heat with tokens in hands. Many slum dwellers who failed to get coupons were sent back home. Some were also denied ration because of glitches in their ration card. Police and CRPF barricaded the area to ensure crowd management.
