BMC polls: Celebrities queue up to cast their votes

Elections to civic bodies, including Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), are going on in full swing in Maharashtra today. Bollywood celebrities, including Ranveer Singh, Rekha, Anushka Sharma, Sonali Kulkarni cast their vote. Filmmaker Zoya Akhtar also seen using her franchise in Bandra. Tina Ambani was also seen casts her vote at a polling booth in Colaba, saying that she voted for good work in Mumbai city. The BMC polls are being dubbed a 'mini assembly' elections and are being seen as a referendum on Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. An IndiaSpend analysis finds that four of five top corporators -- by attendance -- are from the Shiv Sena, a party that also reported the highest overall average attendance.
