Congress’ Digvijaya Singh’s statement on BJP, Pak spies & ISI sparks storm

Updated on Feb 29, 2020 11:29 pm IST

Congress leader Digvijaya Singh made a controversial statement regarding the Bharatiya Janata Party, Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence, and espionage. He began by commenting on the issue of nationalism. Singh said that the Congress was locked in an ideological battle with the BJP and Sangh. He then said that those who hadn't participated in the freedom struggle were lecturing on nationalism. He later tweeted a clarification, claiming that he hadn't said BJP was spying for Pakistan, but was referring to Madhya Pradesh police's action against BJP and Bajrang Dal workers caught allegedly spying for Pakistan.
