Given the slowdown that the country is currently experiencing, all eyes were on the government's capital expenditure plan for the next fiscal year. Union Finance Minister announced multiple infrastructure projects, focussing not just on public spending, but also private participation. She also announced an allocation of Rs 3.6 lakh crore for the Prime Minister's pet project of providing tap water to all households.
