Did Congress credit Narasimha Rao, Manmohan, Vajpayee, PM Modi asks in LS

Updated on Jun 25, 2019 11:48 pm IST

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking in the Lok Sabha during a discussion on the Motion of Thanks on President's address, criticised the Opposition. Saying “thus far and no further”, he sought to dispel the belief that the Bharatiya Janata Party does not give credit to past governments and leaders. PM Modi asked the Congress whether it had ever hailed the contributions of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led National Democratic Alliance government. He also asked whether the main opposition party had ever credited past Congress PMs like PV Narasimha Rao and Manmohan Singh. The Prime Minister also reminded the Opposition that it was during his last government's tenure that former President of India Pranab Mukherjee, a veteran Congress leader, had been conferred with the Bharat Ratna.
