Final Assam National Register of Citizen list is out amid tight security

The final Assam National Register of Citizen list is out. The list segregated Indian citizens in Assam and those illegally entered from Bangladesh after 1971. However, MHA said that the non-inclusion won't amount to his or her being declared a 'foreigner'. Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal is stressing an appeals process for those who have been left out of NRC. Those excluded will get a chance to file an appeal within 120 days in Foreigners' Tribunal.
