Former President Pranab Mukherjee awarded Bharat Ratna

Former President and veteran Congress leader Pranab Mukherjee was presented the Bharat Ratna, by President Ram Nath Kovind. Mukherjee was named for India's highest civilian honour in January, along with renowned musician Bhupen Hazarika and Bharatiya Jan Sangh founder Nanaji Deshmukh. Apart from being the President, Mukherjee also held key posts in the governments headed by Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, PV Narasimha Rao & Manmohan Singh.
