From CM to PM: Modi enters 20th year in office; BJP hails contributions

On October 7, Narendra Modi entered his 20th consecutive year as the head of an elected government. He was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2001. He is currently serving his second term as the Prime Minister, after a historic victory in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. On the occasion, the Bharatiya Janata Party launched a mega campaign, comparing Modi's tenure to previous Indian prime ministers and also foreign heads of state. The BJP said that Modi had served the longest as the head of an elected government among all of India's PMs. The party also compared his continuous tenure to foreign leaders like USA's Bill Clinton, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Barack Obama, UK's Margaret Thatcher, and Germany's Helmut Kohl. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, an old associate of Modi's, hailed his contributions. Watch the full video for more.
