Govt not considering proposal to rename Shimla: CM Jai Ram Thakur

After Allahabad was renamed as Prayagraj by the UP govt, reports of renaming Shimla to Shyamala have emerged. Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Jai Ram Thakur cleared the air on the reports. He told the media that it was just a suggestion and the government hasn't proposed anything yet. He mentioned that there were suggestions and it's the government's responsibility to pay heed to suggestions. In his interview, he also said that if people recommended the change then they would give it a thought. The suggestion to rename the name to Shyamala was made by Hindu right wing groups.
