Incessant rains brings Mumbai to a standstill, 16 killed in wall collapse

At least 16 people were killed in Mumbai and Thane as the cities received heavy rains throughout the day and night on Monday forcing authorities to declare a public holiday amid forecast of more showers. Around 1,000 people were evacuated by BMC from Kranti Nagar, Kurla. Train services from local and central stations have been suspended. Air traffic has been affected too. At least 54 flights have been fiverted from Mumbai's airport. Mumbai is witnessing its highest rainfall in a decade.
