Updated on Feb 28, 2020 05:37 pm IST
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman commented on the state of the economy. She said that consumption needs to be given a boost and that the government would spend considerable amounts of money on building infrastructure. She also said that the government was regularly talking to members of the business community. She also countered the Opposition's charge that the economy is being mismanaged. Sitharaman said that the country suffered from double-digit inflation under the Congress-led UPA government, and there was widespread corruption under the previous government.
