IUML to move SC against Citizenship Amendment Bill, BJP & Cong trade barbs
Updated on Mar 09, 2020 10:25 am IST
The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) on Thursday filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2019. IUML has argued that the bill is unconstitutional and does discrimination against religion. Meanwhile Congress and BJP exchange barbs over the passage of bill. Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said the government is causing unrest in the entire country. “The government has chosen the same route which they chose for Jammu and Kashmir,” Azad said. BJP General Secretary Ram Madhav appealed to the people in Assam to not fall prey to propaganda spread through vested interest.
