JNU protest: Students clash with cops, remove barricades; water cannons used
Updated on Nov 11, 2019 07:28 pm IST
Students of Jawaharlal Nehru University held massive protests in the national capital over issuance of a new hostel manual. The students allege that the new rules mandate a massive hike in hostel fees, as well as other provisions like a curfew time of 11:30 pm and 'appropriate dress code'. Protests were also held outside the All India Council for Technical Education facility in New Delhi, the venue of JNU's third annual convocation. Police were seen using water cannons as students tried to remove barricades and sloganeered.
