Junior doctors staged protest in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas. They protested over inadequate attention to other patients after hospital was dedicated to Covid-19. Earlier, the doctors went to meet senior authorities over the issue. The protesting doctors were, however, not allowed to meet senior authorities. West Bengal has recorded over 9,300 infections and more than 430 deaths. On Monday, Mamata govt announced salary and stipend hike for junior doctors, house staff and interns of state-run hospitals. The decision was taken to boost their morale during the crisis of coronavirus outbreak.
