Karnataka govt mulls removing Tipu Sultan mention from textbooks

Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa commented on historical figure Tipu Sultan. The Bharatiya Janata Party leader said that the government will cancel Tipu Jayanti celebrations. He also said that mention of Tipu Sultan in textbooks may be dropped. Yediyurappa was also asked about the upcoming bypolls to 15 seats, and recent floods in the state being the biggest issue. The Chief Minister said that the government had provided relief to flood victims.
