‘Lokpal should probe Yeddyurappa Diary’: Congress
Updated on Mar 22, 2019 06:47 pm IST
With election season heating up, the Congress party cited news reports on alleged 'diary entries' to demand an investigation by the newly-appointed Lokpal into alleged payoffs by former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa to the top brass of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Congress asked if the Income Tax Department had been in possession of the document since 2017 and if the government had given a green signal for a probe. The Bharatiya Janata Party denied the charge, claiming that the 'photocopied' document had been provided to the I-T Department by a Congress leader DK Shivakumar who had been unable to authenticate it.
