Who said you can’t say ‘Vande Mataram’ in Parliament: LS Speaker Om Birla

Newly-elected Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Thursday responded to questions over slogans raised by MPs in Parliament. “Who said you can't say 'Vande Mataram', 'Bharat Mata ki Jai' in LS?” Om Birla asked. Earlier, Birla had said that he would not allow chanting of religious slogans in Parliament. The 56-year-old Speaker is a two-term MP from Rajasthan's Kota-Bundi.
