Nearly 18 million people between 18 and 23 are estimated to cast their ballot for the first time in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. Hindustan Times' My First Vote campaign aims to reach out to young, first time voters to understand what they want, and what issues matter most to them. In the wake of the Pulwama attack, 21-year-old Ankita Sharma feels that the incoming government must strive to make better provisions for Indian soldiers. “Leaders should also try to permanently resolve the Kashmir issue,” she adds.
