About 18 million people between 18 and 23 are estimated to cast their ballot for the first time in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. Hindustan Times' My First Vote campaign aims to reach out to young, first time voters to understand what they want, and what issues matter most to them. 23-year-old Prashasti Mehta says that she wants leaders to focus on the poorest of the poor section of society. “It's the farmers and labourers who are in dire need of government intervention,” she says.
