Nitin Gadkari, Nirmala Sitharaman participate in ‘Run for Unity’ events

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday morning unveiled the world's tallest statue, the Statue of Unity, in Kevadiya in Gujarat's Narmada district. The 182m-tall statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was inaugurated to coincide with the 143rd birth anniversary of Patel, India's first home minister. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan participated in the run for unity on Wednesday. Roadways Minister Nitin Gadkari attended the event in Nagpur. Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said it was Patel's efforts that united 550 princely states to form India.
