Nobel winner Abhijit Banerjee’s thinking is Left-leaning: Piyush Goyal

Union Minister Piyush Goyal said that Nobel laureate Abhijit Banerjee's thinking is 'Left-leaning'. The minister who holds the Railways and Commerce and Industry portfolio, said that Banerjee also supported the 'NYAY' minimum income scheme promised by Congress during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Goyal said that the economist's thinking had been rejected by the people. Banerjee won the 2019 Nobel prize in Economics along with Esther Duflo and Michael Kremer.
