Only tear gas, no bullets: Delhi police on action during anti-CAA protests

Delhi Police commented on action taken during the protests which took place in the national capital on December 15. Protests organised against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019 had turned violent with vehicles being torched and stones being pelted. The police claims that it used only tear gas to try and disperse the mob. DCP, South-East Delhi, Chinmoy Biswal, denied that the cops resorted to use of firearms. This was in response to reports which suggested that some protestors had apparently suffered gunshot wounds.
