Pakistan invites ex-PM Manmohan Singh for Kartarpur corridor inauguration
Updated on Sept 30, 2019 11:01 pm IST
Pakistan government invited former Prime Minister of India, Manmohan Singh, for the inauguration of the Kartarpur corridor. Making the announcement, Pakistan's foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that Singh is highly respected and represents the Sikh community also. Qureshi said that a formal invite would be sent to the former PM soon. Islamabad's move comes amid a new low in ties between the two nations over the abrogation of Jammu and Kashmir's special status, and Pakistan's infructuous attempts to internationalise the issue.
