INTERVIEW || PM Modi on triple talaq - ‘Even Pakistan doesn’t allow it’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has pointed to the fact Pakistan doesn't allow triple talaq to stress that the issue is a matter of social justice and gender equality and not one of state interference in religion. PM Modi talked about triple talaq in an interview with news agency ANI. Speaking on the triple talaq ordinance by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP ), Modi said many Islamic nations prohibit the practice, including Pakistan, and if triple talaq were indeed a matter of religions jurisdiction then these countries wouldn't have banned it. Modi said triple talaq is a matter of social justice and gender equality.
