Despite the electoral losses in the assembly elections in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh last month 2018 was a successful year for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in an interview released on Tuesday. In an interview to news agency ANI, PM Modi said for a political party and the government electoral performance is just a small aspect in the larger scheme of things. Modi said while the BJP faced a decisive defeat in Chhattisgarh, in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh the elections resulted in a hung assembly. He also pointed out the BJP was facing anti-incumbency in the states and that affected the performance, which was not unusual.
