Updated on Mar 05, 2020 07:30 pm IST

Congress targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance government over the alleged WhatsApp snooping row. Congress' Randeep Surjewala addressed the media and posed five questions to the Central government. He also claimed that party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra received a WhatsApp message similar to the one received by other individuals allegedly spied upon via the Pegasus software. Surjewala questioned the government about who authorised the purchase and deployment of the Pegasus spyware from Israeli firm, NSO. He said that the ministers and officials involved in the alleged snooping should be charged under the Telegraph Act, 1885, and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
