‘Rafale induction couldn’t have happened at a more opportune time’: IAF chief

IAF chief Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria on Thursday said that the Rafale induction couldn't have happened at a more opportune time considering the present security scenario. The IAF chief was speaking at the Rafale induction event in Ambala. “Air force station Ambala will now be home to Rafale jets. Induction in Ambala is important as the fleet can rapidly access all areas of interest. This induction couldn't have happened at a more opportune time,” Air Chief Marshal Bhadauria said. He added, “The first five Rafale aircraft landed on July 29. They have been flown and familiarised with our operational environment. The formal induction ceremony also marks the operational induction. They (Rafale fighter jets) are good to go and deliver.” Five Rafale jets inducted to IAF's 17 Squadron 'Golden Arrows' on Thursday. The fighter aircraft arrived on July 27 at Ambala Air Force Station.
